  • Pradhan Mantri Gramodya Yojana
    The programme has been introduced with the aim of reducing shortage of houses for BPL families in rural areas and also assists in the healthy development of habitat in these areas. Persons belonging to BPL families can avail of this programme.

  • Prdhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojna (new scheme)—Rs 100 cr
    ….to cater to 4400 villages in which population of scheduled castes is above 50%. This scheme will be kick started on a pilot basis for the integrated development of 1000 such villages. Each village will be able to avail gap funding of Rs 10 lakh over and above the allocations under Rural Development and Poverty Alleviation Schem.

    SIDBI. This will incentivise Banks and State Finance Corporations (SFCs) to lend to Micro and small enterprises by refinancing 50% of incremental lending to MSEs.

  • Bharat Nirman – allocation increased by 45%
    BN, with its six months scheme, is an important initiative for bridging the gap between the rural and urban areas and improving the quality of life of the people, particularly the poor in the rural areas. Apart from building infrastructure, it will create demand for companies in sectors like steel, cement, roads and telecom.
